THE RACE IS ON!
The FT Nikkei UK Ekiden 2025 takes place on Friday, 20th of June 2025, along the scenic Thames Path. 15 of the UK’s fastest university running teams will go head-to-head in fierce competition, with 15 corporate teams following closely behind.
Expect fierce rivalries and unforgettable performances as the runners push themselves to the limit. The ekiden tests not just individual ability but the collective strength of teams, promising an electrifying competition like no other.

UK駅伝について
日本の伝統と歴史を誇る駅伝は、多くの観客やファンに支持される、日本で最も人気のあるイベントの一つです。駅伝は、学校や大学、さらには企業や市民ランナーにとっても広く親しまれているランニングレース形式であり、その起源は、交通機関や郵便が整っていなかった頃、駅から駅へと指定された道を通じて重要なメッセージが伝えられていた時代にまでさかのぼります。
駅伝は単なる競技を超え、夢と感動を与えます。各駅伝チームのメンバーは、それぞれの担当区間を走り抜き、次の区間を待つ仲間へたすきをつなぐ役割を担います。レースは個々の能力が紡ぐ、チーム全体の連携力そのものなのです。
駅伝の代表格である箱根駅伝100周年記念に敬意を表し、UK駅伝はこの大学チームレース形式を英国に導入しました。本大会は大学チームと一般ランナーの2つのカテゴリーに分かれており、トップ大学のアスリートたちが10人（男子5人、女子5人）で構成されたチームを組んで競い合います。企業チームもイベントをスポンサーとして参加し、企業対抗でチームワークを競います。
日本と英国を結ぶUK駅伝は、美しいテムズ川沿いを舞台に、参加者や観客に日本の伝統と文化を体験し、楽しむ機会を提供します。
第1回目のハイライト
初開催となったUK駅伝は、2024年6月24日に実施されました。すべての参加者に祝福を送るとともに、ヘッドラインスポンサーおよびすべての創設パートナーに感謝します。
