JA Each year, the FT Nikkei UK Ekiden Runners category features teams from community groups closely aligned with our mission and values.
Which is why, in Year 3, we welcome back The Royal Air Force and the State Visit Legacy for the third year running, and see the Storytellers team return for another year.
The Royal Air Force
Now in their third year, the Royal Air Force team consist of incredible individuals who are at the heart of protecting the air and space of the United Kingdom, British Overseas Territories and Crown Dependencies.
The State Visit Legacy team
Born in Year 1, the State Visit Legacy team came to be after the Emperor and Emperess of Japan held a state visit to the UK in 2024.
Runners each year have come together from across the Japanese Embassy in the UK, the Windsor Castle Royal Household and the Civil Service.
Storytellers
Now in their second year running the race, the Story Tellers team consists of journalists and running enthusiasts.
The 2025 race included runners from the Mirror, LBC, Express, Independent, as well as an Asics FrontRunner, and podcast hosts.
